Why 1HOPE for Kids?
There are a lot of foster and adoption agencies in San Antonio, and we are thankful for each one because they help solve the foster care crisis by licensing families to take foster placements. However, 1HOPE for Kids is the largest foster care agency in San Antonio and the support that our community provides to children in care and foster families goes above and beyond. Until every child has a home is not just our battle cry, but our vision for the future of foster children in our community.

Notes of encouragement to families
Meal ministry and Door Dash gift cards for when life makes it especially tough
Certified babysitters
Transportation
Diaper delivery

Our Partnerships
We believe that we cannot accomplish our vision for foster children without the local church and partnerships in our city. Churches host special trainings, family events, information meetings, and faith-based community to our foster parents and their children. Our community partners support opening foster homes, sponsor events for kids in care, provide supplies for events, and fund specific medical needs. Some additional ways they support our families include:
Making welcome bags for new placements
Providing Children’s Bibles
Purchasing Christmas gifts for our families
Hosting events for our families and their kids to have fun
Making cakes for birthdays
Giving stockings and gifts for our single foster moms at Christmas and Valentines Day

The Foster Closet
The New Braunfels Foster Closet is an extension of the ministry of 1HOPE for Kids by being a resource for foster families. The Foster Closet not only serves licensed 1HOPE families but also foster families with other agencies across Central and South Texas.
When a family receives a new child in their home, it can be a scramble to get clothes, diapers, and other items. Through donations, we can provide everything from strollers, cribs, and car seats, to formula, clothes, and books to families to care for their new foster children.
