When a foster family receives a placement call—sometimes with just hours' notice—they need to be ready. Clothes, diapers, car seats, cribs, and more become immediate necessities. Your donation to the New Braunfels Foster Closet ensures foster families across Central and South Texas have what they need to welcome children into safe, loving homes.

We accept gently used and new items that help foster families care for children of all ages. Drop-offs are by appointment to ensure we can receive your donation properly and provide you with a donation receipt for tax purposes.

Baby Essentials:
Diapers (all sizes, especially size 4)
Wipes and diapering supplies
Formula and baby food
Bottles, sippy cups, and feeding supplies
Pack 'n Plays and cribs
Car seats (unexpired only)
Clothing:
All sizes from preemie through adult
Seasonal items (coats, boots, swimwear)
Shoes in good condition
Underwear and socks (new only)
Toys & Books:
Age-appropriate toys in working condition
Books for all reading levels
Educational games and puzzles
Sports equipment
Other Needs:
Strollers and baby carriers
High chairs and booster seats
Backpacks and school supplies
Hygiene products (new only)
Bedding and towels

Donation Guidelines
To ensure we can serve families well, please note:
✅ We Accept:
Gently used items in clean, working condition
Current season clothing
Unexpired car seats (with no history of accidents)
Complete toys and games (all pieces included)
❌ We Cannot Accept:
Stained, torn, or damaged items
Expired car seats or items under recall
Adult clothing (except for teen sizes)
Cribs that don't meet current safety standards

Can I get a tax receipt?
Yes! We provide receipts for all financial and item donations.
Do you pick up large items?
Currently, all donations must be dropped off by appointment. Please contact us if you have large items and need assistance.
What if I have items not on your list?
Please call or email us before scheduling your drop-off. We'll let you know if we can accept your items.
Can my business become a donation partner?
